Hey Everyone,

Just curious what the 875 meter portage is like from Crystal Lake to Broken Arrow?

From Crystal it starts flat in mature trees and then climbs on good rock trail. It then is on solid rock and sparse Jack Pine on a plateau. It drops again but easily to Broken Arrow. It is a little damp sometimes at the very start on Crystal but other wise a great hike. I like to get my loads up to the top and them finish the portage.

There is the option of using the connecting stream instead of the portage. The stream IMO is too winding and mostly a long boring paddle in a high grass channel. I would choose the hike up and over on the portage.
