8 days should be more than plenty of time for your planned route. i have a few suggestions to add, i've paddled these routes often when my daughter worked at camp menogyn on bearskin lake. the portage from flour to hungry jack was tough for us to find, i'm not sure we ever did find it but we made do with trails and the campground road. if you want to add challenge to this route i'd suggest the portage from E/W pike down to pine, that should get your heart pumping and give you a taste of what is coming on the portage from pine to canoe lake. both these portages are best described as 'challenging'. by skipping down a lake you get to travel through some really nice lakes and skip clearwater lake which is motorized. another idea is to skip daniel and go through duncan to rose lake. here you pass rose falls and get to paddle beautiful rose lake, of course this means you get to do the baby grand portage, a long, mostly flat hike. this is a beautiful trip, in october it should be breathtaking and i wouldn't expect to see many people.

Yeah, the Flour to Hungryjack is a good one. Your better off taking the boat landing and running down the road. I did the portage which was overgrown badly. Couldn't find the trail past I think it was a power line. walked to my right a ways and there was a road going down to Hungryjack. The one that was real tough was the one into Flour... can't remember the name of the lake I came from.

I,m going to have to study the satellite maps of the Flour lake area extra hard before I head up, might just see how many lakes I can see in this 7 to 8 day trip with out killing myself to to bad.

Remember some is outside of BW. So you'll want to get back in asap. I was taken back after going through Moon?, Flour, Hungryjack and Bearskin mostly outside the BW but few people. Then when on Duncan there was people everywhere. Just be prepared to move on up to Rose if Duncan is full.

Yes, I'm going to try and get thru that area as fast as possible, hopefully weather isn't a factor.
