Soloing is sweet, but a good partner is "priceless."

Goose, nice read and enjoyed your pictures. Your trip report got my Quetico paddling and fishin' juices flowing.
I have to start taking more pics of my Quetico trips. I usually leave picture taking to one of the other members of my group. But there are times when I wish I had a camera handy and taken a pic to capture the moment.
Right now I am looking for a good point and shoot camera with a very high optical zoom ... the zoom would come in handy to get a pic of a black bear or moose that is far away.
I have seen 3 wolves on my trips up north but all sightings have been on a roadside outside of Ely when I am coming in or leaving Moose Lake in my truck... I have never seen one while canoeing. Can't wait to take a pic of a Quetico wolf but as elusive as they are, that may never happen.
Old Hoosier, my 3 buds and I heard a pack of wolves one evening devouring our filleted walleyes that we left on a mainland rock point just 50 yards away from our campsite on Badwater back in the fall of 2014. What a sound! You could definitely hear the Alpha male snapping at the other wolves and putting them in their place until he was done with his dinner.
The pack came back the next night and yipped and howled a bit but took off as we did not leave any filleted walleyes for them to eat.
Goose, sorry I got carried away with my wolf story and should have focused my comments about your trip. Again, thanks for taking the time to post.

Glad you liked it Wally13. Need to get back to Badwater (and Omeme!)before I get too old. Have never for sure heard wolves. Have seen quite a few bears and moose on trips though. Would not make a trip without my camera because of the great memories the photos preserve. Want to take my good camera someday, just can't bring myself to risk it. (Presently using an Olympus "stylus" shockproof/waterproof point-and-shoot camera.) --Goose
