As much as I am into photography and as many photos as I have posted on this site, I have never had a DSLR until my recent Christmas present. I am incredibly excited about the possibilities and opportunity to learn and progress as a photographer. With the increased potential and significantly more feature options, and most important, the larger sensor size, I am hoping for even better results in the future. It will take me a while to learn it and get to its full potential (and buy more lenses, accessories, etc.).
My buddy and I went out yesterday for a walk in a local regional park. It was a cloudy and cool morning and the winter woods on a cloudy day can be a challenging place to find interesting subjects. It did clear up somewhat as he morning wore on but not for long. This was more about learning the potential and the functions of the camera than going for great shots.
Here are a couple of the shots that came from that little walk - as I compare them to past shots with my old bridge/superzoom camera, I guess I am somewhat encouraged...
