I hear Red-winged Blackbirds all the time out here these days. Soon they'll be nesting in my local marsh. I can't wait!

on wet days i like to walk around the camp and get some forest floor
shots when the damp brings out more detail
i shoot flat down but have to make sure i don't get the tips of my
boots in the photo.this is at a island camp on Agnes Lake in the Q.
it's just a level trail thru the woods.

quote wetcanoedog: "redoleary that is one of the best shots i have seen anywhere of canoe country!!!..i would give a few bucks to been able to get that photo myself. is this photshoped or natural?"
Thank you so much. This is actually on Grand Island MI, with a "normal " amount of post processing in Lightroom because I shoot raw, and added a little blue to the sky , I did shoot with a polarizer so the rocks under water is legit.

One last one for Feb.
This is the old warehouse at the Lower Sioux agency. Prior to the Sioux uprising of 1862, this building was used to store goods to be distributed to the native people as a result the treaty of 1851. This build was built just before hostilities began....whites of course did not live up to the treaty agreements and the people were near starvation....One day the Indians stormed the warehouse and took flour, salted meats and other commodities to feed their families.

Where is Lower Sioux Agency? My family is historically from Granite Falls, MN, which is right by the Upper Sioux Agency.
