I'm going to start reading the works of Sig Olson this summer!

Starting with Singing Wilderness. Anyone want to join me? (and/or - what are you favorite Sig books?)

I'd recommend Open Horizons as a first read..an autobiography of sorts..kinda gets you to know him first.

I took "The Singing Wilderness" with me on my first trip last year. I now own all of his books, and read them in order. I kinda liked learning about his life after reading all the books, but I can see how it might give you insight while reading the others. My favorite read was " The Lonely Land", as it was a day by day recount of a trip he took. Nicely tied in with historical info on the area and the Voyageurs who traveled the same route.
You won't go wrong reading any of them though!

Do we have an update on your progress?

The update is that I only read the one book so far. I'll pick it back up in due time.

I'm on WKK books right now actually. Nearly finished with Iron Lake, and already have Boundary Waters.

Again, it's imperative that you read them in order. Oh, my... #16 in the O'Conner series comes out in September... Sulfur Springs.

Oh I'm definitely reading them in order. Almost done now with the Boundary Waters. So good. I'm totally hooked!
