Has anyone spent time on Pine lake (NE version, ep 68) and caught some Lake Trout? It seems like it should be a great Lake Trout lake, and I feel like I remember reading about people getting them there. I've had no luck there, however, and the DNR report suggests there aren't any/many in the lake.

I'd love to hear about your luck in Pine, good or bad.

Thanks!

the DNR 1997 survey did net 19 lakers, stated they were stocked in 1992 & 94, i would think there is a small population of them. i've only fished it once , no lakers were taken.

We camped on Pine for 4 days the last weekend in September of '14 and got into some nice lake trout one morning. About halfway down Pine there's a rock bar that comes out from the north shoreline, just past the narrow part of the lake. We trolled back and forth in front of it with x-raps. In all we landed 8 lakers, all dandies between 4-7 pounds. The funny part of it was that Pine was featured on the back page of the Outdoor News the week before that, and the DNR was talking about this same thing, how they had not found any lake trout in their last assessment. I have no doubt there was a fair amount of luck involved to catch a bunch of fish like those, but there must be a few swimming around in there still.

Thanks! I figure there must be a few in there. I'll look for the spot next time.
