Are permits for pma’s available? I know you pick them up from the ranger office, but since I had to print my permit for bwca at home, will they even be available? I called and left messages but haven’t heard back from anyone. Thanks.

Yes, should be available - call them and they'll email it to you. That said, I am having a delay with my PMA authorization that may be associated with one of the ranger stations closing for 2 weeks due to covid (saw another post about this, so this info is second-hand).
I'd just keep trying. Even if you have to wait a week for that office to reopen, we've got plenty of time.

Thanks. I plan to keep trying. If I can’t get a pma permit for my dates, I’ll probably surrender my current entry permit, and pick a different area. I’m chomping at the bit and ready to go. I’m sure everyone is excited for season to get underway.

I phoned the Kawishiwi ranger station, Ely to reserve a PMA permit. I provided my name, phone number, email address, reservation confirmation number, the PMA name and zone, and the dates required. I listened to some PMA regulations and information then was told I would receive an email within one or two days with my PMA reservation confirmation number and PMA regulations and information that I was to share with all other members in my party.
One day prior to my entry date I will receive another email at which time I am required to phone the Kawishiwi ranger station and take a verbal test after which my overnight paddle and PMA permit will be emailed to me.
I informed the representative that I would most likely have no way to print the permits. I was told that the permit numbers provided could be written on a copy of the reservation confirmations that I already have and present to any official asking to see my permit. With that information the officials can confirm that the permit is valid and that LNT and pertinent information has been provided.

Well I didn’t get any of that. I talked to the ranger today. She took all my info, went over all the rules. She couldn’t get on line but took notes and said if the date was available, I’d receive an email. I got an email tonight saying it’s available and what I assumed was my permit to print. She did ask for a reply with my entry permit number but nothing about a phone call or verbal test? What I printed off is “pma authorization sheet”. Lists all the rules and has blank spaces for entry, dates, section, and pma to fill in. I printed off my entry point confirmation sheet, fishing license, and that pma authorization sheet and assumed I was good to go? Hope I didn’t miss something? She also added in the email a f.y.I. That a permit was issued for entry on the same day of my last day. If anyone knows something I haven’t done, please let me know. This is the first pma permit I’ve ever gotten. Thanks.
