I am gonna take my graphite wenonah prism on its first trip in the bwca. Currently, I have no yoke for her. What do you guys like better? The wenonah yoke that goes in or one of the wood yokes that attach to the sides? Let me know what might work better for the prism. thanks

I've never used the Wenonah yoke (I have an Advantage), but they seem like they raise the canoe above your shoulders quite a bit. Not sure I'd like that. I used a removable wood yoke.
As far as the seat goes, is it the big tractor seat or the small tractor seat?

quote canoetripper: "It is the big tractor seat. I seem to remember somebody mentioning a nice pad for the tractor seats made by zaveral/zre but cannot find them anywhere? "
You can buy them from J&J canoe but all it is is a piece of foam from a sleeping bad, as mentioned above. That's what the racers use.

Hidden River Yoke but with Superior Portage Pads instead. Room enough for my xl melon. Have used a Wenonah cantilever gunnel mount,
. Wasn't as stable, and I did not like sling pads or the cupped type.
The clamp wood yoke feels much more secure, large block pads more comfy and adjustable while carrying.

Made my first yoke with spring creek clamps, later bought the pedestal yoke and prefer it. Pedestal is easier to clamp on, sturdier, quieter, lighter, also can reverse it and attach it behind you making for a decent seat back. Big foam pads of my DIY are a bit more comfortable though.
Stop destroying our planet. It's where I keep all my stuff.

I have the same system as butthead on my SavageRiver solo. Holds tight, comfy to carry and looks nice on the canoe. FRED
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fourtune to remember the ones do, and the eyesight to tell the differance.
