Tuesday June 30. Got down in the 40's last night and the sleeping was great. Woke up to ...you guessed it wind and rain, however, the wind had died down enough to where we decided to cross the lake and go on a day trip to Sheridan. Had a breakfast of eggs and ham (freeze dried) yummy. Also cooked more muffins and they were good. When we got the falls coming out of Sheridan we fished there before going up to Sheridan. Caught several nice fish.

Went up the portage to Sheridan and found that the wind was to strong up there and we would have to fight just to get away from shore since it was blowing directly into the landing. We went back onto Carp and did some exploring of bays and fished them. On the way back to camp we (I) took a wrong turn and went into a pretty big bay and had to fight the head wind to get back out and on track. It was getting kind of late and I thought if we some how got stuck away from camp we had no way to start a fire, no first aid kit, no duck tape to fix the kevlar with. When we got back to camp we put a day trip bag together, and then had Texas BBQ chicken with mac and cheese and corn.
