Wednesday, July 08, 2009 What an absolutely amazing beautiful day to awake to. A light wind was blowing in off the lake, keeping all the pests away - only a couple clouds scattered here and there, but otherwise just a huge perfectly blue sky above. We could not have asked for a better day for our layover day. I was up early-ish and set about gathering some more wood and preparing breakfast. After awhile they got up and came out. We lingered around camp for most the morning.

After lunch we tried to go for a walk but all of the paths leading from camp turned into impassable undergrowth after about 50 yards. We returned to camp and decided to explore some of the surrounding islands and hopefully find some decent firewood being that everything around camp was either completely rotten or living. After returning with some firewood we lounged for the rest of the day doing some fishing from shore. We ended the evening like the rest sipping whiskey by the campfire. This was the first time I could remember watching the sky from the same spot throughout the entire day. What an amazing day.
