And this construction. A great “arm chair” on south side of island overlooking the bay.

A USFS officer team stopped by and asked for permit. Kind of a perfect setting for their arrival - up a big rock from canoe. He was only missing the fedora and whip. I could swear central casting had sent them. An observation - in 60 days in the Quetico over 8 years, I’ve seen one ranger crew - and they simply went by on the way to a late swim at Lousia Falls and never stopped to talk to us or check permits. With this being our first 5 v days ever in BWCAW, we were stopped by USFS twice. Asked about permits and entry from Canada - should have had a double entry permit but these officers didn’t really care so long as we had a current BWCA permit - an overnight paddle form Moose Lake.

Per USFS requests, we did remove rope and improvements of no-natural materials - mostly rope. He reported he now had a life time supply of rope himself. Looks like we’re headed that way.

Fixed and ate our second calzone dinner. Love that JMO.

Ate pancakes with fresh wild blueberries.

Packed up and headed south in nice weather.
