Lakes: Leano, unnamed lake, Kilburn Lake. Travel distance: 7 km. Portages: 5 for a total 770 meters.

Early start from Red lake for the 50 mile 2 hour drive to the entry point. Missed the first turn off just like last time. Road was in good shape except for 1 wash out that required pretty good clearance to get across. They have set up a new parking lot and portage for this entry just south of the original. It is longer than the old one. Get the canoes set up and all the gear down to the lakeshore. We are on the water around 8. Travel south on Leano to 400m portage to stream, a 120m and a 50m to a small lake and a 100m portage to Kilburn Lake. The entrance to the last portage is at the very edge of a small falls. A tricky landing. We are now on our destination for the day, Kilburn Lake. 8km long with 4 major arms and the usual bays and islands. We select a campsite on a small Island in the North part of the lake. We could easily spend the entire week on this lake, and decided for a short first day, almost a layover to fish and explore Kilburn.
