Today's events would include dogsledding on the trails in the woods and hiking and snowshoeing on Gunflint Lake. Lauren loved the dogs and the sled ride was really cool. We intended for only one sled ride, but since we enjoyed it so much we booked another one for tomorrow.

It is amazing how quiet things are up here in winter. We walked to the Canadian Border in the center of the lake and since the wind was nill, we couldn't hear a sound. Molly enjoyed the freedom of running loose on the lake.

One of the great features of staying at Gunflint Lodge are the packages they provide. We got a package where breakfast and dinner are included with the meals. Ski and snowshoe rentals are included as well. The food is great and the atmosphere in the lodge at night is wonderfully peaceful and warm.
