I got up early again. Fixed some coffee and fished around the camp. No luck. Char got up around 7:30, I fixed breakfast while she put her face on. Scrambled eggs with bacon, red peppers, green onions, and cheese. I wanted a strong breakfast as we were going over to Ensign to fish all day. We had our morning devotional again then fixed lunches and packed up the canoe and headed over about 9:30. Still no sun and a little breeze from the N. We fished along the S side of Ensign, not doing much. I think we only caught 5 fish between us today, 1 pike, 1 small walleye, and 3 smallies about 12"-13" We didn't care too much, just paddled around, talking, enjoying each other. Our youngest of 4 kids just graduated from HS last month and was going to leave for college in a few weeks. We began to plan out our next life chapter, the empty nest chapter. Wwe were only married a little over a year before our first child came so now it was getting to know each other again. Like dating all over.

Shortly after lunch it began to rain again so we headed back to camp. Got to camp about 2:30 so we sat under the tarp while it rained off and on all afternoon. The sun would come out for a few minutes and we could see some beautiful rainbows. No other people ever came down our way again today. Could only hear folks portaging through the S to Ensign. Solitude in the middle of chaos. Had dinner of pork chops over cedar coals, garlic mashed potatos, and dried fruit. Nice campfire tonight as the rain held off until around 11. Brought out the smores which the Mrs. liked.
