Day tripped to Ram and caught some northerns, but it was too cold yet for bass. Tons of moose and wolf scat on the portage trail and a very cool beaver dam enroute to Ram. Lots of skeets at the landing of Ram but that was the only time they would be an issue the entire trip. We only stayed a couple of hours on this small but pretty lake. Once back on Sturgeon we trolled for eyes and caught a few as we worked all the way down into the narrows. None of us excels at fishing but we caught enough for dinner. Note: when we had scoped out the site on our arrival, we found fresh bear poo but decided that a bear that far back would not be habituated and that we would claim the site. After dinner on the last night one of us (Sam) dropped a pan of Pistachio pudding. It landed upside down of course. Though we cleaned it up the best we could there was a residue left behind, so if you used that site this summer and had a big, furry visitor…that would be Sam’s fault.
