Wednesday, August 02, 2017 Headed to Cache Bay for our last night. Met a family that had left there rods on Hook Island on the Silver Falls portage wanted to let us know so we could take them back to the outfitters and they would pick up the gear on the way out. We decided we would have turned around and went and got the gear but each to their own. I don't get it, apparently some people go just for the experience and fishing isn't that important. Weird?? Trolled for trout all the way across Cache Bay and trolled Big Sag for trout but nadda. The campsite was on the West point of the Bay where it meets Big Sag and had a lot of down wood so we cleaned a bunch of it up and made a fire. Made a big fire, a real big fire. We got a little nervous but it burned down to a manageable level with no harm done. Note to self, when cleaning a camp site you don't have to burn all the trash at once. Went fishing in the evening and wasn't expecting to catch m. uch as I have never had much luck on Big Sag on the America side. We slayed the eyes and threw a couple of nice slimers as well. Apparently Canada eyes are dummer the American eyes, or more prolific, or maybe their passports aren't in order and they can't cross the border?
