Still quite windy, sunny, Mid 60s

Thankfully, we woke up to sunny skies on Monday morning. The temperature was warmer as well. Our guest had breakfast and was on his way quickly. Seemed like a nice enough guy but kept to himself mostly out of trying to be polite to us I think. Our group made some pancakes for breakfast and tidied up camp before we headed out.

We did some sightseeing and found some moving water to fish. We caught 15-20 Small mouth in a couple hours and could have caught a lot more. Looking down in to the water I could see many smallmouth swimming around. The wind was still strong throughout the morning and most of the day. We had some lunch and lounged around camp most of the afternoon. Collecting more firewood, fishing slip bobbers, reading, swimming, and napping. Around 3pm 2 canoes came through the lake paddling in to the wind. It was a Dad and his 3 daughters. We could tell they were exhausted and desperate for a spot. Long story short they asked us to stay as well. I was beyond frustrated as it really changed what we wanted to do while we were camped there. However, out of being polite and seeing they were tired we let them stay as well. Again, this had never happened to me before then two nights in a row. It didn’t end up being that big of a deal but I was upset at the time. Around 6pm Kyle and I went out fishing for the evening. The wind was starting to calm down and it was great weather with partly cloudy conditions. As we started fishing we caught a smallmouth and a Northern pike quite quickly. We were fishing in 7-10 fow on a wind blown shoreline with slip bobbers and leeches. The underwater structure was a shelf with chunk rock and boulders. From 6:30- 8:30pm Kyle and I caught around 30 walleyes between the two of us and we lost quite a few as well. It was some of the best walleye fishing that I have had. It was almost instant action as soon as you would cast out the bobbers. As the light faded the bite started to slow down. We were still getting bites when we headed back to camp. The other two had a fire going when we got back and we talked some with them and had some hot drinks and went to bed.
