Saturday, August 26, 2017 Up early for a breakfast out of the backseat and pack up for our tow to Hook Island. It was cool, overcast and pink in the east. Ruh-roh. Good thing is that there was a good breeze out of the east to aid in crossing Sag and Cache Bay. Kip worked part time at Seagull and knew the 2 tow boat drivers.....we were in good hands. A quick ride across Sag got us to Hook Island. We unloaded, reorganized and shoved off for the Cache Bay Ranger station with a breeze at our backs. Check in was quick but the conversation lingered with Janice.....it was a nice visit. Heading north, we hit the channel that would take us to Silver Falls. The Falls was beautiful.....the portage.....not so much. We fished a little below the Falls and caught a bunch of smallies but we had to keep moving. Up through the Saganagons to Dead Mans portage and then out the back side to head to Four Falls. Water levels were decent for August and the portage landings ideal. Through Four Falls and on to Bald Rock Falls. The campsite on Sidney just below the Falls was our destination. It's a nice site. A cool drizzle was falling as we set camp and cooked supper. It had been a little cool and damp, but overall, a good day. It looked like we might be in for a wet night though.
