Day 2 of 4
Sunday, June 29, 2025 Meeds to Swallow (110r) was incredibly muddy and slick. Not a well-kept portage, and it rained a few days prior, so skeeters were awful. Swallow was a 1 min paddle across to the next portage (93r) which was much muddier but didn't have as many elevation changes. LEECHES, DON'T SWIM. Moderate difficulty. Moose tracks and scat up the route.

Pilsbery was creepy, I swear there's ghosts on that lake. Got caught in a storm and waited it out at #625. Very small campground, wouldn't recommend.

Portage from Pilsbery to Allen was the muddiest and buggiest portage I have ever been on, probably because it follows the stream from Allen. Prepare for blisters if recent rain.

Allen to Jump was a breeze, but a lot of rocks and steep incline.

Be extra careful exiting Jump into Gaskin. Super steep drop.

If staying on Gaskin, try to stay at #628!!! Gorgeous, huge campground with some sand and rocks, facing toward the sunset. Careful about leeches, though.
