Rain Rain Rain. My buddy and I have been going to the BWCA now for over 20 years. This was a short easy trip into Wind Lake where we were told the walleye thrive. We entered via Moose lake in the early afternoon and we knew the rain was coming but headed out anyway. We made it to the portage when it started to get wet and it didn't stop until about 10 pm. Luckily the site we were targeting (middle island site) was open so we could get a tarp up before everything was too wet. We were able to get a fire going and cooked steaks right over it. Dinner under a tarp was actually quite peaceful. No fishing on this day took place.
