06/10/2024 09:23PM Great report, I love all the details you included about the things you saw and how you were feeling. I also have found my toughest days of solo trips to be the days that I didn’t travel. |

05/26/2024 12:25PM I enjoyed reading your report. This summer I will be taking my first BWCA solo trip at this entry point. Looking forward to it but also wonder how my mind will cope. |

01/29/2024 09:25PM Thanks! I love paddling in the fall after the busyness of Labor Day has passed. It’s my favorite time of year to camp. |

01/29/2024 05:50PM Thank you for the interesting trip report! It's so much more interesting when your thoughts and feelings are included, rather than just a chronological list of events. I have stayed on site #674 on two different solo trips, and I LOVE that site. The portage into Vista was for me, exactly as you described. In fact, I thought I had missed the real portage. Those boulders are ankle breakers. Good luck on your future solos! Dave |

01/29/2024 08:51AM Nice report. Love that area! We will be heading that way this summer for our father/son 25th consecutive annual trip. Plan on base camping on Gaskin and lots of fishing on nearby lakes. |

01/28/2024 06:27PM Great trip report. I paddled that same area that same week in 2017 and 2018. I think it's the perfect time of the year to paddle. |
