I bring a small repair kit, but have never had to use it.
It includes:
Leatherman
Duct Tape for hull repairs and assorted things
Stove repair kit from Manufacturer
Assorted nuts, bolts and washers, specifically ones for canoe gunwales, portage yoke all in an old plastic film canister-I miss film for only the canisers...LOL
A couple of wood screws that might help repair a paddle
some shock cord for tent repair and other uses
baling wire for who knows what
super glue for medical purpose mainly, but could come in handy
All of it fits neatly into my clothesline bag with line and clothes pins and BDB's.

2 seat bolts w/nuts.
pieces of nylon and mesh for possible tent repair.
heavy duty needles/thread.
a spare clamp component for my portage yoke.
SS wire.
a few ty-raps.
cable lacing (a flat cord, really strong).
clear HD scotch duct tape.
strapping tape.
hot glue stick.
a very small pliers and a tiny 3/8" wrench.
thats about it.
so far, ive only had to stitch a pack back together.

I don't carry much for solo trips (group tandem trips is a different story).
I carry duct tape. I have a swiss army knife in my pocket and a needle nose plilers in my fishing kit. Also in my fishing kit are a couple of safety pins and a sewing needle that can be used with either fishing line or dental floss. Again in my fishing kit is a rod repair kit - ie an extra tip, extra guide. and most importantly, a glue stick.
There's a small tube of glue stuff and a patch from the manufacturer for my air matress in its stuff sack. There's a wrench for the stove in the stove's sack.
I also take a few cable ties. Those are very useful! They can replace a bolt and help splint a broken yoke or paddle. My fishing reel is currently held to the rod with zip ties. It was a field repair and worked so well I never bothered getting a new reel.
