Four years ago the ice went out in the BWCA around the 1st of April. The forecast looked good for the next few days. The walleye season did not end on the border waters until April 15 so I put together a quick trip. (2 day planning) It turned out to be the best 4 day trip ever and certainly in my top 5 all time. Perfect weather with temps between 20-50 and no wind or clouds for 4 days. The fishing was excellent. There was a full moon to boot. I was really hoping for a repeat early trip this year but doesn't look like that is going to happen so will have to settle for memories of this trip.

The exif data on the picture says this was taken 4 years ago....almost to the minute from when I am posting it. (Thursday, April 5, 2012 7:08 PM) I don't think it is looking anything like that today on South Fowl Lake.

quote Mocha: "some of you may know of my fascination of dead stuff. i collect skulls and other "parts". well, today i found this under my humidifier. over the summer i knew there was something in my house, heard it running around during the night. i don't know if this is a mouse and wish i'd have taken measurements before cleaning up the mess. the entire skeleton was there, including the tail. not sure how all that other stuff ended up under the machine. part of the filter had been "tampered with". interesting. "
Poor thing probably choked on the filter fibers
