Lake One entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Kawishiwi Ranger Station near the city of Ely, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 21 miles. Access is a canoe landing at Lake One.

Nice report, Bob, thank you for sharing. Sounds like an adventure and I'm glad it turned out well, especially with the bear!


My two oldest daughters and I are headed to the same entry point on Monday. Would you be willing to share the hints about finding the first couple of portages? I've read the trail into clear can be a little difficult to find.
