03/04/2018 03:03PM Chrismar gets the most use and McKenzie when more detail or room for notes are needed. |

03/03/2018 09:29PM McKenzie is always our map of choice for travel in Q. We'll have a Chrismar for the overview and some confirmation of portage locations. We might carry some Fisher maps, too, if we have them, but we just think McKenzie maps are best for Q. It's probably personal preference, but you asked. :) |

03/03/2018 01:31PM We carry all 3 brands of maps. Although I mostly use the Fischer maps the most. |

03/03/2018 11:10AM Always carry both McKenzie and Fisher. |

I still prefer either Fisher or McKenzie, with McKenzie being my favorite because it's "zoomed in" a wee bit more than the Fisher. That's the info I was looking for! Thanks carmike Fishfishoff |

03/03/2018 10:31AM I carry Fisher maps for navigating. Have used them since I was a kid a long time ago. But in the Q I always bring the Adventure Map since it has the official park portages marked. I don't always use it but when I do it can be very helpful. |

03/03/2018 09:48AM Another option, and cheaper, is to use google earth and print your own maps. To waterproof them, brush both sides with Thompson waterseal and hang dry. |

03/03/2018 09:18AM Are the ones made by Canoe Canada made of paper...and sold at Canoe Canada? If so, I've used them. I still prefer either Fisher or McKenzie, with McKenzie being my favorite because it's "zoomed in" a wee bit more than the Fisher. Like others, I also carry the Chrismar, which I'll trust over either Fisher or McKenzie for portage locations. |

03/01/2018 05:14PM It sounds like McKenzie is the early favorite along with the "Park Map". Anybody seen the maps made by Canoe Canada? FISHONFISHOFF Can we use US postage stamps when mailing these postcards? :-) |

03/01/2018 01:04PM Corrected. Fat finger and insomnia to blame. |

03/01/2018 11:54AM I thought it was good for a cluckle. |

03/01/2018 11:45AM See Ausable’s post. The McKenzie maps show postage locations. So, I’m a month early... |

03/01/2018 08:29AM Mailboxes in the Quetico? Please explain. It is not April 1st yet. |

03/01/2018 07:39AM I’ve traveled all over Quetico and never seen a mailbox. They must use good camouflage. It would be nice to mail a postcard occasionally. |

03/01/2018 07:30AM I carry McKenzie, Fisher, and Chrismar, but mostly use the McKenzie. When things look off, I'll check another. I'll admit I've not see the mail boxes that Ausable has found. :) |

03/01/2018 04:34AM McKenzie maps. The topo features keep me located. Get info from outfitters re fishing spots and to check portage locations (most shown on maps are ok). |

03/01/2018 02:02AM Fisher for the larger view, and Chrismar for back-up, accuracy and more overall view. |

02/28/2018 10:41PM Chrismar or the Adventure Map (official park map?). The entire park in one map with the most accurate portage representation. |

02/28/2018 10:31PM I use MacKenzie maps. I also carry the Adventure map as a backup and it also is known to have the most accurate portage locations so I will check the portages between the maps before my trip. The only thing I would like Quetico maps to have is lake topographic maps. |

02/28/2018 07:51PM It looks as if the maps for Quetico are not as detailed as those for BWCA. What is your map preference for navigation, topography, fishing, usefulness, etc...? Has anybody used the maps made by Canoe Canada and if so, are there benefits to theirs compared to the others? Thanks in advance, FISHONFISHOFF |
