Some ideas come to mind:

1. Entry 37 - Kawishiwi Lake - Head to Lake Polly, Malberg Lake and the Boulder/Adams area. Backtrack out the way you came in. The Boulder/Adams area will provide some solitude

2. Entry 54 - Seagull Lake - Head to Alpine Lake, Ogishkemuncie Lake, South Arm of Knife Lake. You can backtrack the way you came in or make the loop up to Saganaga Lake and back out. This is usually a busy route.

3. Entry 51 (Missing Link Lake). Head to Tuscarora, Crooked Lake, and Little Saganaga Lake. Make a loop to Entry 52 or come back out the way you came in. Little Sag has enough islands and bays that you probably can find some solitude.

4. Entry 38 - Sawbill Lake - Alton Lake, Grace Lake, Phoebe Lake. This is out and back route too. The 285 out of Beth makes people think. Not many people make the trek all the way out to Phoebe.

Are you looking to stay on the Ely side or would you consider moving east? Sawbill Trail? Gunflint Trail?

Eight man trip (ages 20-54) planning a 6 - 7 day canoe trip May/early June 2020. We have done two trips out of Moose Lake before, but would like a different route with good fishing, scenic, and little people interaction for at least a couple days on the journey. Prior trips were around 30 - 35 miles, but only a couple canoes. Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!
