Thanks! The answer seems to be obvious, but I forgot what is obvious and what is not: life is tough and too busy to recall relevant but remote details of the past.

Thanks, everybody! I appreciate your inputs! I ended up with Snowbank Lodge and Outfitters: they had what I wanted (SR Quetico canoes) with competitive prices. Communication was good as well.

We have used Kawishiwi Lodge (Lake One) several times. Good service. We also use their bunk house the night before we put in. Family owned. Nice folks!

TeamGB: "Am I correct the parking at Lake One is open for public use and I could leave a car there waiting for my return from Snowbank exit (irrespective of an outfitter chosen)?
Thanks!!"

Yes.

Jackfish is right. I use Canoe Country Outfitters, who have a lot of SR Queticos, and are convenient to both One and Snowbank from their Moose Lake base.

Serious answer... they’re all good. One person’s favorite is another person’s not-so-favorite. Check out the outfitters listed as sponsors here on BWCA.com, pick one and go. You won’t be disappointed.

Hi guys,
in 2011-2012 I made two good loops from Lake One to Snowbank. The latter one was quite a challenging single-portaging trip via Adams, Kekekabic, and Ensign closed to others because of the forest fires. This summer I plan to go with a mixed and weakened team for a very modest trip in the opposite direction, from Snowbank to One. And I forgot a lot of relevant details.

Could you please recommend a good outfitter in Snowbank-One Lakes/Ely area to get good old SR Quetico 2-seater and 3-seater? I need nothing except canoes + standard extras. Should I stick to couple of them directly at the Lakes or those at Ely are just fine? Am I correct the parking at Lake One is open for public use and I could leave a car there waiting for my return from Snowbank exit (irrespective of an outfitter chosen)?
Thanks!!
