Lost me. What's not worth it?"

Traveling up Moose day before to pick up permit to enter elsewhere. By all means, if just wanting to enter the Q at PP, travel up Moose from ep25. Two hour paddle most days. I thought you were set on entering elsewhere.

From the south, Quetico can be entered (and permits picked up) via the Lac La Croix, Prairie Portage, or Cache Bay ranger stations. And each ranger station has multiple Entry points.

Yes you have to go to PP, so starting at Mudro makes not much sense at all.

You also have to have the proper Q permit since those are for certain areas as well

If it were me, I'd get a BWCA permit for 25, go directly to Prairie Portage to get the Quetico permit, and then go to North Bay. Assuming you don't get a tow to PP, that route will take much of the day.

Yes. In theory you could go the day before - I think after lunch - you're actually entering Quetico and pick up permit but seems not worth it.

Planning a 5 day trip end of May.
If we were to start at 23,24 or 26 and head up to North Bay, how does that work with the Quetico permit. Do you have to go to Prairie Portage?
Thanks.
