Glad to see that you had a good trip. We are doing the same trip the first week in August. The only difference – we are doing it backwards to what you did. Have done this route before, but has been over thirty years. First time I did do it in six days also. We are planning on eight this year with a couple of weather days/fishing days built in. Can’t wait to see what has changed. KL

Great trip report! I too am interested in the water levels as I am headed to the same area in Sept. Thanks for the report and pictures.

Thanks for sharing. Makes me want to take a May trip even more than ever. It sounds like you learned a few things about being the one that plans the trip and it will make your next experiences even better! I really enjoy the pic of using your canoe to prep the food.

Thanks for the report. I have June 5th, E.P. 16. Base camping on Iron for most of the week. Feels like every day is getting longer and longer. 9 more days til we get to go!

Good report. I'm going in EP 16 on Monday, but we'll be base camping on Agnes or Boulder Bay.

Sounds like your initial trip as leader was a success.

Sounds like the trip was a success. You never know what May will bring. You said this was the first trip you planned, I'm wondering if the others on the trip were novices or had experience in the BW. Quite an age range there! Which is pretty cool.

Your canoe registration is expired:) Never been up 16 but I am going in June and always like reading up on it. Thanks

I did not notice any low water problems. However, I had never been up on Nina Moose, Agnes, Lac La Croix, or Iron Lake before to compare. We had to pull our canoes over a couple of beaver dams across Nina-Moose or Moose Rivers, but otherwise the rivers were all passable. We got hung up on some rocks in the lakes that might have been more than normal, but we always got around them OK. There were a lot of trees fallen on the portages that had not been removed yet by the Ranger crews, but they did not cause a big problem.

Nice report. I take it you didn't have a problem or encounter the low water levels that are being reported..

I'm glad you liked the report. I added a few photos.
