Hi all
It's getting nearly a month away for my first solo bwca trip. I'm getting the last few things together. I'll be receiving my mountain house meals today in the mail. Bought my liquid bandaid and neosporin last night. Any of you getting ready and overly excited?
Mike

Just over a month for my first trip. Its a group solo with Luft. I am getting excited. I already pulled out the gear for the trip. Then in August I get to take a newbie to the bwca. She is already getting excited. It will be fun seeing the bwca through a newbies eyes.

34 days for me! I'm done with finals week on May 9, then work a full 40 hours through May 14. On the 14th I head home to grab the canoe and pack. Entry day is May 17. Gonna be the fastest I've ever packed for a trip!
Unbelievably excited though!

I'm headed in for a 5 day solo this coming Friday. Probably in the Ely area as the ice is out there but haven't ruled out Sawbill or Gunflint as options.
I haven't even started pulling gear together! I like to do fly by the seat of my pants type trips at the end of April if the ice is out as a shake down for my extended solos in May. Forces me to get my gear out and dust off the cobwebs.
I know I'll be all ready for my "group solo" with Jeepgirl in May if I get everything pulled out now for this trip.
I just need to soak my clothing in permethrin sometime today and the rest should be easy to pull together.
