I'm taking a trip the 3rd weekend in May and I'm starting Lake One going through the North Kawishiwi River and get out on Farm Lake. I've researched the Kawishiwi River quite a bit, but I was wondering if anyone has fished Farm Lake with any success?

i fished it one evening before heading out on a trip. Caught a small perch and a small smallmouth. Weeha!

There's a lot of good structure in the channel where farm lake turns into the kawishiwi. Lots of sharp drops offs and depth changes. As far as the body of the lake, I had the best success on the humps in the south center of the lake- but that was with a motorboat. It's a pretty big lake to be in a canoe fishing humps in the middle.

You would probably be better off concentrating more of your time where motors are not allowed.

Agree with Grizzly. Farm is better suited for fishing from a boat instead of a canoe. That hump he mentions is good one evening I caught at least one of each of perch, walleye, bass, pike, and rock bass. There's also a small island near the narrows between Farm and Garden that has some decent structure. Watch out on Farm, though, in addition to the boat traffic a decent wind from the south can kick up some gnarly waves.
