The news today said that we in California have the most breweries, at about 900. We have about 80 in the Sacramento area.
I think our next door neighbor, Oregon, has the most breweries per capita.

Most breweries per capita

The first two were a surprise for me. The number one city for breweries per capita is... Portland. Not Oregon, but Portland, Maine. Once again I was surprised and also disappointed MN wasn’t on any lists.

We may not be at the top of any lists but there sure is an explosion of craft breweries/taprooms in the Twin Cities and greater MN. Some really good ones too. I like it!

No way to know for sure, but I traveled to the northeast for business and there are local newspapers devoted to local microbreweries there. This was in a town in New Hampshire.
