Well it is a momentous occasion, I am at 2000 posts on this site(or thereabouts, I seem to have numerous posts showing I am at 1998?) In honor of this i have donated to the BWCA.com site again.

I have been a member since May of 2007, almost 12 years. I am on the site daily, and often several times throughout the day. I can't begin to explain how important this site and this community is to me. The amount of entertainment, enjoyment and knowledge I have gained is immeasurable and I would like to think I have contributed some wisdom and enjoyment for others as well.

I also can't believe that I am still 2000 posts away from being a "Power Member"

So to Adam and the other MOD's, and to all of you that make this amazing website so enjoyable and beneficial, you have my gratitude and well wishes for continued peace and prosperity, and amazing wilderness canoe trips. Thank you.

Congrats on the 2000! I agree there are lots of good folks and lots of good info on this site.
I'm still trying to make it to 500 posts :-)

congrats on your one useful addiction!
your posts update each day, so tomorrow it should show more than 1998.
love your photos, photography discussions, and what you add for gear, stoves, filters.... all such helpful info.

Very nice. I know that I enjoy your contributions to the site.

Less than 500 to go for me! :)

Howard, hover your cursor over the farthest left pinetree under your name, should list your total posts

I am very grateful to get the chance to enjoy your photo posts! Between you and ghamer, and a few others, I'm continually treated to not only informative posts, but beautiful photography; keep it up!

Hey ozark...i see you have your bear paw and recently posted in appreciation of the site too. You are one of those members that are the foundation of the site, so thank you for that. And you post some pretty darn nice photos too!

Congratulations!

My excuse is that I am working on quality, not quantity... and posts on the politics forum should not count, IMHO.

Wow bobber, thanks for the heartfelt congrats.

I got involved in one political discussion that went too far, in 12 years. I won't make that mistake again. Guess i will work on the "quality" of my posts.

Congratulations!
I know a week doesn't go by that I am not on the site. I really enjoy the trip reports / trip planning / and then general discussion. Have come a long way since 2013 when my cousin took me on my first trip. I thought wrapping a sweatshirt around the portage bar on my Alumacraft 70 lb canoe would do the trick! Thanks to my cousin and everyone on this site, I can now do a solo to Stuart lake by myself and not see another person for 5 days and 4 nights!
I looked at my total, and I hope to be at 75 by tomorrow - so I still have a ways to go!
Keep posting - I really enjoy all your posts as well as everyone else's.

Hey bobber, it's all good. You are 6 months younger than me but already RVing in retirement. Good for you sir.

03/17/2019 08:43AM
I'm surprised you are only at 2,000 posts.... I thought you'd have a lot more...

but then again.... your posts are definitely "quality" over "quantity". Every one of your posts are very detailed and you give lots of great information. You always go above and beyond in the information you give when people ask questions about areas that you have been to before.

Keep on posting!!!!! Thanks for being one of the many great members on this messageboard.

You & I are about neck and neck, both when it comes to time as a member and post count. It's a long way to 5000....

03/20/2019 08:38PM
Alright, here we are four days after my original post and I have been fairly active in those four days and now my posts are shown at 1981, seem to be going backwards. I am losing faith in this post tracking thing.

No worries. I just noticed I lost my bear paw and over 100 posts. I still have my can cooler though. And thanks again Mitch!

Probably some OT threads got whacked, I noticed it too.

03/21/2019 10:40AM
yeah I am close to the same situation. I think it was January 2009 that I joined and I am about 1500 posts..... i barely even talk to myself let alone post onto a message board, but am here daily.

mirth: "Probably some OT threads got whacked, I noticed it too."

The site's managers want this to be an upbeat, informative place, a resource for current and future paddlers, so when a thread takes on an ugly tone, they'll let it float downstream a ways and out of sight and then sink it. Even if your posts in that thread were utterly upbeat, they get sunk with the others.

I received an email from Adam this morning, they did some needed housekeeping so deleted quite a few posts, mostly OT type. It was around 50k posts. They needed the space.

Thanks again for the explanation!

lindylair: "
Thanks again for the explanation!"

My number probably went down... lots of "low quality" posts!

03/21/2019 04:11PM
Mine went down by 10-12... no doubt low quality posts, like this one :-)

03/22/2019 11:16AM
Congratulations!
