Well it is a momentous occasion, I am at 2000 posts on this site(or thereabouts, I seem to have numerous posts showing I am at 1998?) In honor of this i have donated to the BWCA.com site again.
I have been a member since May of 2007, almost 12 years. I am on the site daily, and often several times throughout the day. I can't begin to explain how important this site and this community is to me. The amount of entertainment, enjoyment and knowledge I have gained is immeasurable and I would like to think I have contributed some wisdom and enjoyment for others as well.
I also can't believe that I am still 2000 posts away from being a "Power Member"
So to Adam and the other MOD's, and to all of you that make this amazing website so enjoyable and beneficial, you have my gratitude and well wishes for continued peace and prosperity, and amazing wilderness canoe trips. Thank you.

I am very grateful to get the chance to enjoy your photo posts! Between you and ghamer, and a few others, I'm continually treated to not only informative posts, but beautiful photography; keep it up!

Hey ozark...i see you have your bear paw and recently posted in appreciation of the site too. You are one of those members that are the foundation of the site, so thank you for that. And you post some pretty darn nice photos too!

Congratulations!
I know a week doesn't go by that I am not on the site. I really enjoy the trip reports / trip planning / and then general discussion. Have come a long way since 2013 when my cousin took me on my first trip. I thought wrapping a sweatshirt around the portage bar on my Alumacraft 70 lb canoe would do the trick! Thanks to my cousin and everyone on this site, I can now do a solo to Stuart lake by myself and not see another person for 5 days and 4 nights!
I looked at my total, and I hope to be at 75 by tomorrow - so I still have a ways to go!
Keep posting - I really enjoy all your posts as well as everyone else's.

lindylair: "Wow bobber, thanks for the heartfelt congrats.
I got involved in one political discussion that went too far, in 12 years. I won't make that mistake again. Guess i will work on the "quality" of my posts. "
Congrats and thanks, lindy - that's a lot of "high-quality" posts.

I'm surprised you are only at 2,000 posts.... I thought you'd have a lot more...
but then again.... your posts are definitely "quality" over "quantity". Every one of your posts are very detailed and you give lots of great information. You always go above and beyond in the information you give when people ask questions about areas that you have been to before.
Keep on posting!!!!! Thanks for being one of the many great members on this messageboard.

You & I are about neck and neck, both when it comes to time as a member and post count. It's a long way to 5000....

mirth: "Probably some OT threads got whacked, I noticed it too."
The site's managers want this to be an upbeat, informative place, a resource for current and future paddlers, so when a thread takes on an ugly tone, they'll let it float downstream a ways and out of sight and then sink it. Even if your posts in that thread were utterly upbeat, they get sunk with the others.
I will paddle eternal, Kevlar and carbon.
