What a nice way to spend time with your girl. She has really taken to the outdoors and it's so cool to see. I imagine many outdoor jobs and adventures in her future. Awesome pics too BTW.

Thank you for the very nice trip reports. I am impressed with the way you are testing yourself and learning and putting in the work to make sure both of you are familiar with your gear and canoe. I see nothing but more success coming your way due to your building knowledge and skills. Keep enjoying it and I will keep looking forward to hearing about your journey through your trip reports.

Looks like a great trip. I've been taking my kids up there since they were a few months old but I cannot wait for when they get to this age. Looks so fun.

What a great report and preparation journey for your BWCA trip. It is inspiring to see you you are introducing your duaghter to the wilderness.

A few more years and maybe Aurora will be writing her own trip reports too?

Thank you and I agree with you in that it was really cool to see. I may be a little biased but IMO she rocked it.

Thank you, we both have much experience with BWCA camping, just none with women power alone. God willing Aurora and I will have many, many more reports.

The time goes by soooooo fast. I savor all her past trips and I am very thankful that we chose to immerse her in canoe camping.

Awesome job and planning to meet the needs of the group. Add some Bug Soother or Bye Bye Black Fly for the gnats.

Great stuff. Terrific plan and execution. I’m sure that you will inspire many families to do the same. A great way to get a child acclimated to the wilderness.

AWESOME trip report. So fun to hear more details about the first mother-daughter solo excursion. Can't wait to hear how the trip next month goes!

Thanks, I will definately have to look into the bug soother. One little skeeter bite and I have a great reaction.

Yes, start them out young!! Thankfully we were fortunate to have many opportunities to do so.

Thank you. There will definately be a report...good or bad :) I have my first solo in less than 2 weeks. I am definately getting use out of my newest gear purchases.

What a report, and what a trip. Getting to the age where my wife and I are starting to plan a family and it scares us to death. Reports/stories like this bring us back to the mentality that it can be just as fun and rewarding as it is daunting. Thanks for sharing - both this report and the wilderness with Aurora.

You are welcome. I believe it is good to be scared thinking about it...Over confidence can be a bad thing. I can say that the decision to start taking her in at 8 weeks has been very rewarding in watching her thrive in the wild today and I look forward to our future life journeys.
