Didn't see any near cook last night. Checked every half hour or so until 3 am. Anybody see them?

Nothin', but then again, during peak observing hours my eyes were closed. d#^)

Around 8 pm last night, my sources told me that the strength was beginning to dissipate. I should have listened: I was on watch for a long while last night and nothing. Now, they say that activity is already strengthening for tonight. Fingers crossed: cloud cover is still complete but showing signs of thinning somewhat.

We did not grab any but about an hour north they were spectacular.

Blame it on post op needing to sleep .. I just could not gather the energy.

There were some photogs with fast lenses and time lapse skills who cobbled together some photos locally.

I walked down to the beach a couple times to look. The first time Kira was with me and didn’t think much when I heard some growling. The second time I heard the same growling... Kira was in the house! Bear tracks in the sand this morning. Haha!
No northern lights!

This was from the night of 8/30. The eye didn't see much but the camera caught much more with a 30 second exposure. Excuse the bad picture. I didn't have the WiFi card in my camera.

Dang I thought this was going to be this weekend. :( I might still luck out though. Who knows.

This was taken at the Fall Lake boat launch. They were much lower on the horizon the following night. I'll try and post some better pictures later tonight.

The quality of that pic with the boat motor and everything actually turned out pretty great.
