STEMI (Google it)
That’s what they call it..... and guess it was pretty bad. I met the Cardio Doctor this morning for the first time that I remember and he looked me in the eye and said “You had BIG Attack”. My wife said at the hospital there are called Widow Makers. I had 90% blockage in one Artery and 80% in the other.
The good news is that since I was able to get to the Hospital within 20 minutes of realizing something was wrong I have no damage to my heart.
The doctor said I’m not 100% out of the woods on this but even though he wanted me to stay in the hospital he thought I would be safer if I was at home. If I get the beast at this point. I wouldn’t probably make it. Safer at home....how weird.
Weak and tired but alive! I will need a few days to get back to those I promised to call.
Thank You all for you support it was needed.
Much Love!

Rob... I'm so glad you were treated so quickly and are already back home recuperating. You're a blessed man. Rest up and keep getting better, buddy.

Your response to your problem probably saved your life and certainly life as you know it. I too had a life or death crisis (severe septic urinary tract infection) and the 911 response as called for by my wife certainly is the reason I am alive now. I could not communicate or did not even literally know anything that was going on around me. I had lost coherence.
My advice to all is to err on the side of caution and call 911 or actually get to medical attention quickly when something is amiss.

Rob,
I'm glad to hear you are OK. You are the person responsible for challenging me to get to that once in a lifetime lake, you know the one. I still think about that place often and I think about how it was that I got there.
Take care. You are in my thoughts.
Tom

Bob, it may be weird to be at home but look at it this way: you have a better bed, better food, better company, and best of all no 5am blood draws. I try to stay positive about hospital stays but home is the best.
Hope your recovery is smooth.

5am blood draws...LOL! The worst!
Happy to hear that you are recovering well at home.

Now that you are "clean" get out and paddle. I had just one stent and had no damage. 95 percent occlusion LAD the widow maker.
Out of the hospital in two days (they want a certain percentage of reduction in cardiac enzymes and since mine were so little elevated, they erred on the side of caution.. hate that term).
I asked doc when I could go paddle.. He said as soon as you can get to the boat...
I did rest a couple of days as hospital sleep uniformly sucks.

What a great thing for the doctor to say! Gotta love it.

Glad your doing good. I have had a history of heart trouble in my family for years. I went on a low dose of meds about a year ago. BP has been around 130 / 83 since on the meds. We take life for granted when we are young but, not so much when we get to our advanced age. I'm praying for you buddy and you will overcome this, take care of yourself . MAN HUG.
