Hwy 61 will be rerouted during road repairs and resurfacing.

As far as detours go, this is a pretty nice one. And, I don't think it adds much in mileage or time. From my perspective, the drawback is that if you want (or need) to stop in town; which i usually like to; is when things become bothersome. But, if you don't need to stop in town, this detour is about as close to a non-issue as a detour can be.

Great! We leave Friday headed to the Gunflint via Grand Marais. This trip just gets better and better. Seems most everything is messed up or a little unusual this year.

Okay. I'm finished pouting now.

As TB says: this detour is a non-issue. It’s just a change in scenery.

"Seems most everything is messed up or a little unusual this year".

Haha thats a good one to say summer road construction in Minnesota is unusual.

I took the detour. It's not an issue at all

Thank you for this timely update. Headed up there this Saturday and by that point of the drive, I would have not liked to be surprised by a detour. Glad to see its nothing to worry about either.
