First time from a Grand Slam Lake that I tried to get into this lake was from its far southern entry point.....didn't make it....too many granite slabs, rocks and large boulders.....although caught quite a few pike and smallies trying to get there. Did end up seeing this guy about a 600 yds N/NE from my campsite on this particular morning...
After stashing my stuff in multiple locales that night, I grabbed all my gear the next morning and departed that day.....this shot is facing southeast.....

More clues...time for a winner to emerge. Lake 59 is a Grand Slam lake, has 5 different ways to get into it, and many campsites, although none seem that memorable. A lake to the north is a quite famous destination lake that a couple groups each year die to see. To the south are two of the clearest lakes in all of Questico.

Love Suzanette but I spent a very uncomfortable night on the cliff campsite--tent pitched on solid rock (it's not a particularly good site--difficult landing, one decent tent pad, exposed fireplace), intense thunderstorm lasted several hours--I was in a fetal position trying to insulate myself on my sleeping pad from lightning strikes. We did find the jar--didn't even know there was one there.

Yeah, I hear ya regarding that cliff campsite. I too found the rocky landing was....er....crap. Tied the canoe off, walked to the top, nice views, never found the jar. So, paddled around till I came upon campsite M8 which worked great for my 3-night solo stay. It's the site due east of the two portages leading into north-central Brent....I went from M8 south down to Burt for some really good laker action....
