Thanks for the kind words! Looks like just an eight hour drive to the Suwannee for you.

Great report. Thanks for taking the time to share.

I can relate to your recent coffee woes as I forgot the hobo dinner I painstakingly prepared, for my last trip, in the freezer.

Thanks for the nice review! Forgetting a meal is harder to adjust for than forgetting creamer--hope you had enough extra food to make up for it.

Thanks so much, Lynda! We were very lucky to get close to birds that are accustomed to people passing by, and those beautiful flowers don't move when I'm trying to capture their images!

The lily photos are phenomenal! I read your report in the car on the way to Madison for Canoecopia. Most entertaining!

The Suwannee river is a premier winter canoeing trip in Florida. The 'canoe camps' are great and well kept and many times, have a camp host. If not the river camps, the huge white sand sandbars are excellent camping and plenty of driftwood for the fires. My son and I started canoeing the Suwannee when he was small and then we started doing it with his Boy Scouting buddies. Many times it was 8-12 paddlers total. Group meals were always a hoot. We usually do a trip a year on the Suwannee although his friends are growing up now and becoming men. The upper Suwannee is better than the lower river as far as a wilderness feel. Nothing better than a beautiful sunny day in the 60's, sunshine on the water and pulling into a spring run for a dip and going down the river with the current with steaks for dinner.
