Will be travelling from EP 16 north to the border in mid-September this year. First part of the trip includes travelling the Moose River. Should I be concerned about having to clear deadfall on the river at this time of year?

Trying to decide whether to:
- Not bring a saw for the first time. I only bring it for emergencies. I don't make fires for cooking/recreation.
- Bring the current saw (Sven Saw).
- Buy and bring a new saw (maybe a Silky GomBoy 240mm).

Any advice is appreciated.

That route is very well traveled. Can't imagine you would need to clean any portages.

There are x number of permits a day with up to 4 canoes each....every day.

Unless there's a storm the day or two before you go in....it'll all be clear.

The only thing you may have to contend with is low water on the upper stretches of the river as you first enter. But that’s not much to deal with.

It's not always the portages that can get tricky on Moose River North...

When I was coming out 16, the beaver dams were the worst part of it.
