Time to get psyched for a 2023 visit to Quetico! Like everyone else I'm curious about temps and water levels for early trips, but that's a different thread.

My question here is: how's the supply of white gas/Coleman fuel in Thunder Bay?

After my first trips in the area I would have considered that an absurd question; you can get all you want at WalMart or other places. But last year I had to drive around rather desperately looking for it. I think about the 4th place, a hardware store uptown, had a dusty old can sitting around.

Hopefully that was just a pandemic blip, but who knows. Is Thunder Bay experiencing shortages of food or fuel, in anyone's knowledge? Thanks!

Canadian Tire in Thunder Bay has 14 one gallon cans in stock. Isle 49.

Now there's some timely local info for ya, thanks very much!

That's the 2nd place I checked last year after striking out at the WalMart next door on Arthur St. Everyone seemed surprised that it wasn't available.

I looked and noted you are flying in obviously from California? You can’t fly with gas or canisters. It’s a good question though for sure with the shortages we had. I had issues the year before with the canisters being low in stock. Luckily I’d bought plenty and didn’t need anymore. Definitely stocked up for last years trips early though.

Awesome that you can get a local response. If it’s noted that supplies might be an issue as you get closer to trip I’d check with your outfitter and see if they can get you what you need so you don’t have any added stress!

Gear Up for Outdoors could be another option in Thunder Bay.
