Last month while my son and I were in Snow Bay we checked out several campsites near ours. We found this bottle on the fire grate at one site, likely discovered in the woods by the family that was there before us. We packed it out because I wasn’t leaving a glass bottle behind like that for it to end up broken and tossed into the lake or woods nearby.

Now I’m hoping to find out more about it. On the bottom around the edge it says “Federal law forbids resale or reuse of this bottle” along with the words “liquor bottle” the number 5902 and D-126 among other markings. Pictures for size/shape reference.

Did I carry home trash that is just trash (I’m perfectly happy if I did), or is it something that may have a fun and historical backstory?

Perfect thanks- that article lead me to another, showing D-126 is for Seagrams. A date range and a distiller is way more than I thought I would find this quickly.

Seagram's eh? The suppliers to Al Capone during the era of prohibition.
