I'm heading down the Isabella River in June, would anyone know what campsites are open on Quadga? I believe the fire went through that region several years ago, don't know if it closed any of the sites shown on my BWCA map. I normally camp on the river but thought I might give Quadga a try this year.

Thanks - Allen

To the best of my knowledge only two of the four are open. The western site on the south side and the western one on the north side. You can always check with the SNF to see if either has been reopened.

Boonie is correct only 2 are open... the northern site off the Powwow trail is the better of the two..

I can confirm that 2 are open for sure. I have heard some "whispers" that they may re-open a 3rd (if they haven't done so already?) But, it's typically been a quiet, lightly traveled area.

If you haven't seen it already? Here's a trip report from a few years back when we camped on Quadga.

I agree the northwest site is open and has a spur trail to the powwow. The other is the southeast site at the narrows to a bay. I did well fishing this lake.

Well great. Thanks! Looks like the NW site will be the nice one, which means I will find the SE one open! (<:
What fish did you score with? Pike? Smallmouth? Walleye?

Pike and smallies. There is supposed to be walleye in there too. I'm not much of a fisherman so if I catch anything it's a good fishing lake. I always meant to fish the river between Quadga and the Little Isabella River but never have. It always seemed fishy there.

The last map I saw from USFS of the Pagami closures has the other site on the east side still marked as "closed" which means they intend to reopen. Any sites permanently closed (like the fourth site) have been removed from the map entirely. When I was there a couple years ago, it was definitely still closed, and I haven't heard a timetable for reopening. They also have those very far south Insula sites marked as "closed" with the assumption of reopening which is pretty neat.
