Got a last minute few days off, and a buddy an I are looking to head up for a 3 nighter around May 15th. Looks like both EP 30 and 29 are available. Considering doing the "Kawishiwi Triangle"....curious if folks think EP 30 or 29 is better for this?

North Kawishiwi has fewer but longer portages. Lake One has you in BWCA when you leave the landing. 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

Please report back. I've been eyeing this spot for a while but never get there. Last summer I had a church group headed there but the water was super high so we just went on to Lake 1 instead.

I've done 3 nighters on both. Fewer people on the NK, ususally but Lake One won't be as busy as it is in the summer. I only do Lake One in early May or October to avoid the circus so you should be fine that early in May,. Both EPs have charm. Easy trip to do the Kawishiwi triangle in 3 nights. Cool rapids to see on the long portage by Clear Lake. Also a cool roller portage before you hit the BW at Triangle. If you do a three-nighter on LO, don't stop at Lake One, head to Lake Three, Take one day and visit Rock of Ages and Horseshoe-Wilder, then spend a night doing the Hudson/Fire Loop.

Either way you are good. They both have their charm.
