Saw this on an earlier thread, and decided to try it on my last trip, a week ago. It was so right on that I thought it deserved it's own thread.
Fillet the trout or whatever fish you have. Roll the fillet, and wrap with bacon. Variations.. you could wrap the fillet around a slice of onion, or even a wedge of potato.
Throw on grate over a bed of hot coals, or in the fry pan, however you do it, I guarantee you will absolutely love it. Don't worry about bringing skewers either I made mine from a split chunk of cedar, and carved them down. Burn the skewers when you are done.

Excellent! You just can't go wrong with bacon.

Yeah, just what my partially filled up arteries need, another use for bacon, lol. Just add a little cheese to that and your body will thank you, not.

I have committed to not having bacon and/or sausage for breakfast for about 6 months, and have survived, somehow. No donuts either, but not hard for me, as they are something with grease in them I don't really like.

I have really scaled back on the bacon too...mostly just for trips. Now I need to do the same with sausage, and summer sausage.

Saw bacon wrapped trout in a Bon Appetite magazine at the doctors office yesterday. They must be copying you.
