I have recently taken up ceramics after years of not doing any.
Here are a set of plates I just made.

woodpecker,
I did ceramics years ago in collage....long time ago.
There is a nice studio 20 miles from home in Crescent City, CA. for a fee they make everything available, potters wheel, kiln, glazes etc. you have to buy your own clay. It is amazing how fast it comes back. And ,Yes , some of the glazing is inspired by the waters of the Canoe Country!:-)

Guts,

I , too, took ceramics in college....wish we lived close to a facility where you could go, pay, create for a fee.....I would love to get back on the wheel and see whet happens....

Sounds like fun have a good one...

double post-- oops. Take this opportunity to say I really enjoy your aesthetics-- in your humor, art, and postings. Slightly off kilter in a good way.

looks fun, do you own a kiln, or use one at another location?

bradcrc,
We have a monthly membership at "The Talking Crow Studio" in Crescent City, Ca. It is about 25 miles drive from our house, they have kilns & wheels & glazes & everything needed. You buy your own clay. ;-)

Woodpecker, that is an interesting reject.... it has 2 runny glazes on it and they ran onto the kiln floor and I had to grind off some of the base to make it sorta OK....and experiment gone wrong. ;-( Too bad, it was a nice bowl till I messed it up....But hopefully the information will allow me to make a better one.

Wow! That is some great work! I feel sorry for the people that do not have a hobbie to fill their time and need to create.
