I have been wondering in what manner to build an ultralight skin boat. I finally found some good sources.

The kayak builder is using a nylon weave which I assume is more stretchy than fibergalss, if you are wondering about the durability.....

They build skin-on canoees and kayaks at Urban Boat Builders fairly often. They are located in Saint Paul and have "Open Shop" every Wednesday night where volunteers can help do some of the work on their projects. ITs a great way to get a first hand look at different construction methods if you're anywhere nearby.
