Yepper-do! The mom and calf moose crossing the lake in the mist. Great shot!
Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

I change my desktop occasionally, but currently I have a scene from the Lake Superior beach at Naniboujou Lodge on my desktop computer. It was taken after our "Celebration Canoe Trip" in 2009, when we stayed at the lodge on our way back to Michigan, and reminds me of how much I love Naniboujou and how blessed I felt at that time.
And on my laptop I have this merganser in Lake One that I took in 2008 on a day trip, the year before Spartan1 had his kidney transplant:
I keep thinking that it is time to change the photos, but then I find myself transported back to those times and realize that they are still creating their magic. . . .

Yep, everyday. Windows 7 actually lets you set a folder as a randomly rotating desktop background so almost every time I clean up the ole desktop I get a surprise!
Take'm to the Wilderness, introduce them to the wonders of God's creation. They will be better for it.

Yup, same here. I have "stolen" a bunch of pics from the photo contests and use them, along with a couple of my own. Hope no one minds. ;-)

Schneidl12's "Morning Fog" has been my background at work for years. Really easy on the eyes when you're staring at the screen all day.
My screensaver is a slideshow of random pictures from a folder. Over the years I've tossed a "few" (~1000) of my favorites in there, many of which have come from the photo contests or my own trips, both in the BWCA and elsewhere.
Nice topic. Gives us a chance to thank those whose pics we've stolen. At a quick glance, aebrooks, airmorse, apendl, arkansas man, backpacking5, badgerboy, bannock, bapabear, beavers, beener, bellolake, bigzig, bknitter, blackstick, bloomingtonsteve, boppa... OK, I give up. There's way too many to thank, so thank you all who've contributed!

PS: My screensaver is also a random "my pictures" slideshow that chooses from all of the photos on my computer. It has the option of choosing several thousand BWCA and Quetico images as well as photos of my family, our Alaska trip, Spartan Bowl trips, etc. You never know what will come up, but I would say the majority of the photos end up being of the canoe country. None are from other photographers, though, as I never download or save other people's photos.

Your welcome. Did not think any of my pic's were all that great.

That is a great pic! What happened to the turtle?"
We sat there for a while wondering what to do about it, and finally decided to tow it across the lake to our site to show some boys in our group. It let go about halfway there, so we went back to our fishing hole. A few minutes later, the turtle surfaced and started hissing at us. Biggest turtle I'be ever seen!

I have one on my home computer, one on my laptop computer and another scene that I blew up poster sized and I have that taped to my window at work. That way every day at work when I look out the window, I'm in the BW. Ahhhhhhh, centering.
Not every turtle has a campsite; but every campsite has a turtle.

You're kidding, right? This one caught my eye and was tossed in the screensaver...
...but browsing your gallery you have a number of great ones. You especially seem to have a knack for sunset pics. The co-pilot one is great too, but breaks my heart.

I don't, but I do have a BW related mouse pad and I have a digital picture frame on my desk that moves through a series of 35 pictures of my last trip.

I switch mine up quite a bit as it evokes memories of that particular trip and moment when I took the picture. Some memories are getting fuzzy... :(
This was Quetico fall 2008. Hadn't seen any wildlife to speak of over ten days. We were getting close to our exit on French Lake when we spotted this guy.

For years it had been Barton the Marten, seen above working on a deer carcass left in a tree. That pic was taken at Lark Lake, so technically not the BWCAQ, but close enough.
A couple of weeks ago, I switched things up. The second pic is me, circa 1986 or so, looking over the Pine/Granite River. Love that picture.

I did indeed rock down to Electric Avenue, but I did not take it higher. I regret that.

My latest background at work."
Howie, thanks for reviving a 12-year old thread. Your screensaver of a Fisher map would make my mind wander!

I agree! Great shot... but you could have at least combed your hair! LOL

My desktop photo is always something out of nature and is often but not always from the BWCA. Usually scenery but sometimes a bird, flower or a fall colors photo. They usually stay up for a month or so before I get around to refreshing it to a new shot. There is certainly no shortage of inspiring photos on my computer to choose from:)
