We all know leech bites bleed and bleed. But while researching natural antibiotics I found out that pine pitch helps blood coagulate and is an natural antibiotic. So this summer I'm planing one cleaning the bite spot well, the applying pine pitch and see what happens. I know we aren't allergic to pine as we drink pine needle tea here often. I'll let know you how it goes!

Great tip... thanks! I read your post about using it for cuts as well. Good to have that knowledge in the woods.

I read it can work on stinging Nettle as well. However, sting nettle only stings for a few hours, and the pitch can last for days. So I'm not sure it is worth the benefit.

Good tip. I believe I saw it recommended as a natural antibiotic in a Ray Mears film.
